Author: eirikns@sn.no (Eirik Nicolai Synnes)
Uploader: eirikns@sn.no (Eirik Nicolai Synnes)
Version: 3.35
Type: comm/thor
Requires: Thor 2.4
Features
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
SortMail lets you search incoming mail for messages containing configured
addresses, user names, subjects, etc. Once a message is found, SortMail
can do one or more of the following:
· Copy or move it to another conference
· Save it to disk
· If it is a digest; split it into seperate messages
· If it is an Aminet RECENT listing; parse it into the filebase and/or
display a list of new files in the New Files window
· Execute external ARexx scripts. A script for running executables is
included
Possible uses for SortMail include sorting mailing list messages into
seperate conferences, moving messages from certain persons into their own
conference, maintaining an index of files available on AmiNet and saving
messages from mailing bots to disk.
Through the use of external ARexx scripts you can also add new functions
yourself.
SortMail will also write log messages addressed to the user with warnings
and errors that occured while processing the messages, information from the
AmiNet RECENT messages and optionally statistics on SortMail's doings.
In other words it is not of any use for people without an Internet Email
address.
History
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
3.35 (3.3.97)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
New · The New Files listing is automatically sorted by directory
· No warnings about empty RECENT message anymore. Also, the
list of new files is deleted when an empty RECENT is found
Fixed · Fixed problems with last file in RECENT not getting added that some
people had
· Online help didn't always go to the correct node in SortMail.guide
· Save message didn't write the Reply-To: line
· Local2Email would sometimes not change the conference name to
EMail
· Saving messages to disk didn't work if there was a space in the
destination path
3.34 (27.10.96)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Fixed · Some digest may have been "swallowed" by SortMail if they
contained MIME base64 attachments
3.33 (15.10.96)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
New · Added support for message forwarding in Local2Email
Fixed · CfgSortMail and SortMail.guide said users are always added from
messages in the Email conference, which is not true
· Prevented some busy loops that could occur if the configuration
file was invalid
· If user adding is turned off for the system in ConfigThor, then
SortMail will never try to delete users. This will give a small
speed increase on some configurations
3.32 (22.9.96)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
New · SHANGHAI/S will now always be able to get the list of unread
messages with Thor 2.32 or newer. Previously SortMail could only
get it from the system active in Thor
· Updates conference window only if messages were processed
Fixed · Digest parser has been made slightly more compatible with "weird"
digest formats
· Local2Email would sometimes mess up events if there was a user
without an address in the user database
3.31 (3.9.96)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
New · If SortMail is using a Thor ARexx port the name is available as
an ARexx clip ('SM_ThorPort')
· RunCommand.br is updated to use the SM_ThorPort clip
Fixed · Save message would always report it failed when SortMail was run
from the Shell without the SHANGHAI switch, even if it didn't
· If an exclude file was used for RECENT messages files would never
be added to the file database
· Non-MIME digests with only one sub-message would cause an error
· The installer would fail if ENV:THOR/THORPATH did not have a
linefeed and reported wrong path in the exit window
3.3 (24.8.96)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
New · Support for multiple systems
· SYSTEM is now a required argument when running SortMail from Shell
· RECENT parser can be configured to disable adding of MOTD & stats
· RECENT parser now supports exclusion of both parent and child dirs
· Local2Email.br now has proper support for crossposting and
multiple recipients
· Wrote an Installer script
Fixed · When two entries in a list had the same name the first one would
always be selected. Worked around this by numbering the entries
· Local2Email would sometimes spread data for one event onto others.
Also improved the general behaviour
· RECENT messages with no new files listed could cause trouble
· A few minor quirks here and there
